Winter Wonderland

It is cold and snowy here in the great state of Wisconsin. In fact, we are just about buried in the snow. Close to a foot today. The kids got the day off today but they didn't complain about it. As I was looking out the window of my office today, my mind drifted to the movie, "The Chronicles of Narnia," where it was always winter.

As beautiful as it is out there, if left out in this weather to long, it can be deadly. Much like the world today. The pull of the world can be so strong that it lulls us to sleep spiritually. Also if we are not carful, the truth can easily be buried under the snow.

It says in Matthew 13:58 (NLT) 58 And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief. This unbelief didn't just happen. They were lulled to sleep, much like a person lost in the cold desires to lay down and just rest for a few moments.

I love the prayer of A.W.Tozer. "Lord, don't let me be guilty of keeping the truth of the Holy Spirit's ministry "buried under the snow." Help me to both teach and live the active presence and controlling power of the Holy Spirit today. Amen."
