Momentum

Mattthew 16:18 ...that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

What a great summer it has been for us here at Lighthouse. It has been a summer filled with momentum. An anniversary of 25 years for Melonie and I in serving the church here in Fond du Lac. Retiring our debt in a 3.5 million dollar campus. So many souls coming into the kingdom and some great new people becoming part of this great community of faith at LCC.

The Lord most certainly is building His church, no doubt about that. I believe the church is gaining momentum and will be a strength in these difficult time. Momentum is a force of strength. Often it is the difference between winning and losing.

Momentum comes from winning battles. I think of David and how he killed a lion and a bear - no man was going to stop the Lord from working thru him, even if he was over nine feet tall. Overcoming obstacles in our live helps us to become stronger and build momentum.

Momentum happens as we are faithful in the little things. How have your devotions been lately? Have you been faithful to spend time in the Lords presence daily? How about your church attendance? It's been so easy to make excuses during such a busy summer, but at what cost? How much momentum has been lost? What lessons have we taught our kids who are watching us?

Matthew 25:33 (NIV) "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!"

Yes, the Lord is building His church and the gates of hell will not prvail against it, BUT!! The gates of hell will come against it. More on that in the post to come.
