Philippians 3:10 (NIV) I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
So many people want to talk about it as a topic, Knowing God, but no one seems willing to count the cost of knowing and loving God for Himself!
As I dive into this "relationship with God", my heart moves into a greater awarness of His presence and desire for fellowship. For this to happen, there must be less of me and more of Him. It requires a death, death of self.
I think this is what Paul meant when he penned that great desire, "That I may know him!" He was expressing more than the desire for just a casual acquaintance - there was an longing to be drawn into the full knowledge of fellowship with God - an all consuming fellowship that was provided in the the cross and redemption.
