Hebrews 12:1 (NIV) 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
Oh, how easy it is for us to become entangled with the things of this world. So much so that we become bogged down to the point of being ineffective or having little influence in the Kingdom. Today, I would like for you to evaluate what is it in your life that inhibits you from really being able to run with the cause of Christ.
I'm reminded of the story of how in 1960, Phillip Knight quit his job and put his entire future on a vision for a new kind of athletic shoe company. With only a $1000.00 he began selling shoes out of the back of his car. He latter took on a partner, his former college coach and with a few modifications to the shoes, the NIKE corporation began to take off. All from a vision and dream.
A church in Sussex, England posted this sign on it's door in 1730:
"A vision without a task is but a dream; a task without a vision is drudgery; a vision and a task is the hope of the world."
Vision can transform drudgery into an adventure which leads to success - winning in the race of life. Don't lose sight of the vision that God has for YOU! Focus on the goal, lay aside the stuff that hinders and run to win. Blessings on you and yours.
p.s. I have entered the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon (Half for me :)) and I am running for a great cause. My cause is Cerabal Palsy and my motivation is of course my grandson, Sy guy! If you would like to support this cause to help those who may not run yet, someday be able to run, you can do so by donating right from this blog. You can also donate from my donation web sight at http://www.firstgiving.com/pbbalken. Thanks for considering this!
